SWIMGYM SOCIAL DISTANCING PROTOCOL - update July 1st, 2020
Swimming pools, including SwimGym, are working towards a phased and responsible reopening of the facilities. The Swim Responsibly protocol is issued by the national swimming pool associations and will ensure that everybody can swim and work safely and responsibly. This protocol is in line with the instructions of the Dutch government (RIVM). In addition to the 1,5 meter measure, every next phase will be based on current guidelines. In the July protocol update the swimming distance restrictions are lifted.
The SwimGym Social Distancing protocol is an extension of the Swim Responsibly protocol and applies to all SwimGym members and employees. The protocol is necessary in order to spread the flow of members and to resume our activities responsibly. Our services and facilities may be limited to a certain extend after reopening, we ask our members to understand and cooperate to the protocol guidelines.
The SwimGym Social Distancing protocol is published in the SwimGym App (News), on the website (frequently asked questions) and inside the SwimGym facility.
Starting points of Social Distancing at SwimGym:
- Providing a safe environment for all SwimGym members and employees
- Providing a healthy swimming activity.
- Compliance to the 1,5 meter measure. During swimming there is no distrance restriction.
- Avoiding physical contact between members and employees at all times.
- Additional hygiene measures.
The key measure taken are:
Controlling flow of visitors
Access to a swimming activity is only allowed with a reservation via the website or SwimGym App. There is a maximum of swimmers in for each activity. Arriving and departing members will be separated as much as possible by check-in (reception) and check-out (coaches) procedures. We highlight the most important measures taken:
- Check-in procedure: members need to arrive in the reception area 15 minutes prior to the swimming activity, including Laps and personal training. A reception staff member will instruct access to the dressing rooms.
- Members who arrive later then 10 minutes prior to the swimming activity will be denied access due to out going traffic from previous groups.
- A maximum of 4 persons are allowed in the dressing room. There are 3 changing spots and 1 waiting spot. Arrive wearing your swimwear underneath your clothes, change quickly to give way.
- Limited showering at SwimGym: only ‘rinse’ max 10 seconds (use of shampoo is not allowed).
- Members need to be present on the pool deck no later than 5 minutes prior to the swimming activity and need to wait at the designated spots.
- Activities are offered on short course (25 meter) only.
- Check-out procedure: members will be instructed by a coach when and how to leave the pool after a group activity (SWOD).
Safety and hygiene
Avoid physical contact between members or members and staff at all times. Staff will be instructed and trained to secure everyone’s safety and the hygiene of the facility. We highlight the most important measures taken:
- Keep distance: the 1,5 meter measure will be considered as much as possible. No distance restrictions during swimming.
- Coaches provide swimming equipment during group activities.
- Hygiene screens are installed to protect staff and allow safe passing on the pool deck.
- Additional hygiene measures are taken and contact surfaces and equipment will be disinfected frequently.
- Enforcement of protocol by SwimGym staff.
The SwimGym Social Distancing protocol is included in the SwimGym House Rules and therefor included in the Terms & Conditions SwimGym Pools. The SwimGym Social Distancing protocol is based on instructions and guidelines issued by the national swimming pool and sports associations and the Dutch government (RIVM).
