To provide sufficient training opportunities for all members we have, among other things, a membership freeze with a waiting list extending to 2 months. However, we also notice that many bookings are not utilised or spots remain unused due to late cancellations. This makes it more challenging to book a swim activity at the moment.
As of May 1st 2024, we are therefore making changes to our cancellation policy in order to make it easier for you to book your swim sessions and to make swimming at SwimGym even more enjoyable.
Changes as of May 1st:
> Free cancellation period: up to 12 hours before the start
To reduce the high number of last-minute cancellations and therefore increase SWOD, Laps and Dryland availability, the free cancellation period will change from 8 hours to 12 hours prior to your booked activity. This will provide more possibilities for other members to book a SWOD or Laps in an earlier stage.
When you cancel in time, your credit will automatically be refunded to your account. When you cancel too late, within the 12 hour time window, you will lose the credit. The cancellation policy also applies when you like to change your booking or in case the training is not fully booked yet. The cancellation period for Personal Training remains 24 hours.
> Penalty fee Unlimited memberships
Since Unlimited memberships are not subjected to credit loss when cancelling too late, we will implement a charge of €15,- for every third time that no timely cancellation has taken place.
> No-show fee
You can always cancel your SWOD or Laps up to one minute before the start of the activity in the SwimGym app to avoid a no-show. You will receive a friendly reminder for the first two no-shows, after that €10,- will be charged for every no-show onwards.
With these changes in our cancellation policy we have also updated our Terms & Conditions. SwimGym remains the right to change, suspend or terminate the Participant Agreement when the member repeatedly doesn’t cancel or cancels too late.
