Dear SwimGym member,
(Geen Nederlandse versie - English only)
After the first week of reopening we want to update you about a few things. We also would like to take the opportunity the thank you for understanding and for cooperating in executing our social distancing protocol last week. We have made swimming a real team sport!
We are filled with joy to see everyone so happy to be back in the pool. However, please keep up to good work by arriving 15 minutes early and by sticking to our social distancing instructions at all times. Only then we can swim safely and responsibly.
Have a great weekend!
Team SwimGym
MORE SWOD'S (BOOK SMART!)
Since everybody is excited to swim again, you may experience that SWOD sessions are booked rapidly at the moment. We have therefore scheduled extra SWOD's. Extra Dryland sessions will be scheduled on Wednesday evening as well. Please check for available spots on the day itself due to late cancellations.
Understandably, we have lost quite a significant amount of members in the last few months. However, since we currently have limited capacity in the pool, we have introduced a temporary member stop in order to facilitate our current members first.
UPDATE & CHANGES PROTOCOL
After five days of close monitoring we have made a few changes in our social distancing instructions:
-
Laps: if you want to stop swimming laps, only leave the pool at exactly 35 minutes or 60 minutes after the start of your laps hour. This way we can guarantee enough space in our facilities to maintain a safe distance.
-
Laps: when you want to use equipment, make sure that the pool deck is clear to get it safely. We have installed an extra hygiene screen so you can pass our coaches or other members safely. You can always ask a coach to get or store your equipment as well.
-
SWOD: the organisation of our SWOD’s has evolved to create more space while resting. One half of the group will rest on one side, the other half on the other side.
-
Showers: we have closed all showers since this was causing a delay in the shower area. Please shower at home.
COACH TIP: BE CAREFUL OF INJURIES
We understand that you have missed swimming enormously and you want to swim as much as possible. However, please be careful not to overload your shoulders too much after 2 months of not swimming. This can lead to serious shoulder injuries.
Take time to adjust and build your routine carefully by taking rest days en train your shoulder strength. Watch this video for some great exercises that will help you prevent shoulder injuries.
